Thanks for the advice I replaced the old feed wire, problem solved. In my opinion I think because the wire being old and that I've replaced different lights over the years that the multiple punctures in the wire were the source of the problem.
We are very happy with our new lights all together we have 16 lights on 2 different transformers, we get many compliments and we feel it is a great source of security.
