We have multiple under counter light strips with T5 12V 18W wedge base bulbs. Each one has a three way switch: bright, off, and dim. Two of the light strips were turning on, but then pretty quickly going off. I opened up the light strip, and I saw the original MDL transformer. I could not find an MDL transformer, but I found a couple of suppliers that offer similar to replacements transformers. The MDL part has a green ground wire that the replacement part did not, but I figured it was not necessary. The new transformers are working great. If you have a 3 way switch or some other dimmer, then you need a transformer that specifies it works with a dimmer. I only gave it 4 stars for Quality because it has only been two weeks since I replaced the part, so I cannot fully judge the quality yet.
